“In the Saddle Again”

“You’re lagging, brother.”

“It’s not a contest, Kronos,” I replied wryly. “Besides, I happen to be enjoying the view. I don’t get to ride as much anymore.” Then I shifted in the saddle, already regretting this trip, and muttered, “My arse is going to be sore for weeks.”

His deep, darkly alluring laughter made me realize he’d heard me, and I flushed darkly. “Ah, Methos, you still amuse me. Tell me, shall I find a suitable wench to massage your poor aching bottom?”

Ignoring his taunt, I rode past him. “MacLeod can handle it just fine. Thanks for asking, though.”
